History

Whalen Insurance has been insuring microbreweries and brewpubs since 1987, when the owners of the Northampton Brewery opened what was the second brewpub in the Northeast.

Knowing that the brewing operation created exposures not contemplated by standard restaurant insurance programs, Peter Whalen set out to design and market a tailored product to this new and rapidly growing industry. Recognizing the need, the Institute of Brewing Studies/Association of Brewers quickly endorsed the program and still does to this day.

With 17+ years of experience and over 70 insured locations, the Whalen Brewery Insurance Program offers a superior package of coverages and services not available anywhere else, including a comprehensive safety program to reduce the risk of losses for our customers.

Today, Peter and his staff are brewery insurance experts, and the original customers are still in the program -- getting the right coverage at the best possible price and superior service.
